Cuba Partnerships

ree

Four PSL congregations have active partnerships with Presbyterian congregations in Cuba: St. Charles Avenue, University, Lakeview, and First Lafayette. In addition, the PSL has had a partnership with Matanzas Presbytery in Cuba since 1988. These partnerships have been very rewarding, as each partner walks side by side in mutuality with the other in their faith journeys. The partnerships fall under the purview of the Cuba Partners Network (CPN) of the PC(USA).

Would your congregation be interested in exploring the idea of your own partnership? There is no prescribed level of activity in a partnership, only a desire to learn about each other and to share in the faith journey of each other. Members of any of the existing partnerships would gladly meet with interested parties at your church – without obligation – to describe the partnership experience and how a new partnership might be initiated. George Strain (University PC, strain@lsu.edu, 225-937-8094) chairs the Partner Mentor Committee of the CPN, responsible for assisting in partnership formation. He welcomes inquiries and the opportunity to explore the possibility with you.
