Jefferson Presbyterian Church Announces “Adventure at Jefferson”

A New Respite Program for Individuals with Alzheimer’s and Their Caregivers

Jefferson Presbyterian Church is delighted to introduce “Adventure at Jefferson”.  This innovative program is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals experiencing brain changes due to Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases, as well as offering vital support to their caregivers.

Adventure at Jefferson provides a warm, welcoming environment where participants can enjoy a variety of social, recreational, and brain enrichment activities, e.g. art, music, dance, physical exercise and brain exercise. The program is designed to foster meaningful connections and joyful experiences, while giving caregivers valuable time for rest and renewal.

As part of a nationwide network of respite ministries, Adventure at Jefferson follows the proven, volunteer-driven model championed by the Respite for All Foundation (RFA). This approach ensures high-quality, affordable care in a supportive community setting. The ministry is open to individuals in the early and middle stages of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia and is staffed by a small team alongside trained volunteers. No medical training is required—just a compassionate spirit and a desire to make a difference.

Program Details:

• Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays,10:00 am - 2:00 pm

• Location: Jefferson Presbyterian Church,4450 Jefferson Hwy, Jefferson, LA70121

• Meals: Hot lunch and snacks Cost: $35.00 per day
