Camp Agape is a local camp for our Presbytery. This camp is a week long and is held at Feliciana Retreat Center in Norwood, LA. Campers are divided into cabins by age and have lots of traditional summer camp fun, including: a rock wall and zip line, archery, canoes, swimming, the Iceberg (water type rock wall), hiking, 4 square, ga-ga ball, etc. Campers will use the week to dive deeper into their faith as well, and Camp Agape provides either indoor or outdoor worship every day. The camp is also memorable for its daily energizers and huge indoor games! In the past, campers have also enjoyed lots of arts and crafts and even visited a local retirement community for outreach. There is usually a camp wide service project as well as part of growing in God’s love is to learn how we can share that love with others! Meals are eaten camp-style together outside or in the dining hall.

By doing so, they will also experience claiming their own ethnicity and work with others who share it, to celebrate our varied backgrounds and ethnic origins. Through song, dance, skits and food, ethnic groups share the richness and uniqueness of their culture during an evening celebration on the Saturday of the conference. The conference leadership is composed of youth and adults who represent broad categories of ethnic origin: Hispanic, Native American, African American, European American and Asian cultures each have young people and adults who plan and implement this conference.”

Mo-Ranch Junior High Jubilee is more of a traditional summer camp setting in Hunt, TX. Youth stay in nice cabins or their hotel like housing, and meals are served in the cafeteria (the food is actually top notch though!). On a typical day, you go to keynote and energizers, small group, free time, church camp style worship in various locations, vespers, and back home group. During free time there is a pool and a river to swim in and kayak, rapids to play in, water slide and rope swing, sports (like tennis, volleyball, and basketball), ropes course (rock wall, Mo pole, zip line, etc), and similar activities.
